Arxbi wouldn't look at Demyx. He looked like he was having a nightmare. Still, he swivelled his flail in his hand and the spike ball span obediently, as it did whipping up a dark vortex surrounding Arxbi as a sort of shield. He then shot the ball forwards, enveloped in darkness, the ball speeding in Demyx's direction, though he hadn't really aimed. For once, he had no energy for this battle.
Axel rolled his eyes. "Why the hell did I let her onto the team?" He muttered under his breath. Skarlia guessed it was time to go. But as she was about to turn to go, a horrible cold spell spiralled through her body as she saw something that horrified her. Axel's eyes suddenly darted up to her, directly looking at her. How had he known she was there? "You can come down now," he said, almost softly, compared to how he had spoken to the other Organisation members. Skarlia was frozen to the spot. Axel didn't speak until she had turned to look at him. She feared what she may see in his eyes. She finally looked down at him, but all she saw was darkness. "You've changed quite a bit," he observed. "You've come a long way from bounty hunter." Skarlia couldn't find her voice. "Well go on. Say something." A grin flicked across Axel's lips. "Have I changed?" Skarlia suddenly found her voice, though it was weak and shaking. "You've been consumed in darkness. You're not Axel anymore." Axel smiled slightly. "Come down here," he repeated. Skarlia saw no way out and so she slowly leapt down to the plain, quite a few feet away from Axel. She couldn't look him in the eyes for very long. "It was our wedding anniversary a few days ago, right?" He said. "Don't think I've forgotten." "I'm not Skarlia Eito," she growled. "I'm Skarlia Kara Strife. Got it memorised?" Axel laughed loudly. "I take it back," he said. "You haven't changed at all."

Ayla smiled. "Remind me to thank Texaelle. Though, I haven't seen her in a while. I need to thank her for my tattoo." She rubbed the back of her neck and smirked. "It's no fun being immortal. She made my life a little more interesting." She looked at Rildax. "Would it sound weird if I said I'm glad she is okay? After what happened?" She laughed awkwardly. She actually was kind of glad. Despite the fact the woman had killed her.
Vexa froze as she heard a growl escape Masina's lips. She had no idea such a harsh sound could come from such a person. Hurry. She prayed in her mind.
Demyx froze up. He couldn't find Arxbi. It was impossible. No matter how much he wanted to hate him. He seemed to be in another world as shadows leapt up in front of him and whipped the ball away. He suddenly re-entered the real world as he noticed the shadow of a girl on the wall near to him. "Impossible." He whispered as shadows made a ring around him.
"You certainly taught her well." Masina looked up at Vexa. "Ave would have taught her better." Vexa shrugged. "I don't doubt that."

Rildax grinned. "I'm not sure you should say that to her face though," he said. "She cried when she was trying to apologise to me. She didn't give me much chance to apologise to her." His hands found his pockets... pockets... and he absently looked at the opposite wall.
Arxbi let the spike ball fly back his way, and as it got closer the spikes disappeared and he caught it in his hand without paying too much attention to it. The chain reappeared and the ball sat once again on the staff. "I'm sorry, Demyx." He said quietly. He glanced at the shadow on the wall and smiled slightly. "One thing I haven't had for a very long time. Friends." Kara had been ready to attack Arxbi if he really did hurt Demyx. Axel still had her swords though, but she wasn't afraid of fighting with her fists. She looked towards the shadow and her eyes widened. "No way..." she heard herself say and was surprised she'd said that. Then again she was pretty lost for words. "You're... alive?"
Skarlia found herself taking a step back as Axel took a step towards her. It had been an instant reaction. Axel's face looked on thoughtfully at her movement. "Are you... scared of me?" Axel's eyes bore into Skarlia's mind. She wanted to shake her head furiously, but she was frozen. "You are, aren't you?" Axel took another step forward and Skarlia found herself taking another step back. Skarlia cringed at her fear, even though she had thought all the way here she was coming because she still loved this man, through all the wrong he had done. Suddenly Axel disappeared in black flames and Skarlia started. And then she was frozen once again as she heard him appear right behind her. His hand was on her shoulder. "Come on, Skarlia..." his voice was so drawing. It was so soothing, promising to take the pain of three years away. "You know it's just the same old me." Skarlia looked up at him, her eyes thoughtful but then the screams flashed across her mind and she leapt back from him, fighting back tears. "You're not the man I married!" She roared and dashed up the slope again. Axel watched her go and a smile played across his face again. "Just as stuborn as always..." Skarlia dashed towards the Gummi ship, tears springing to her eyes as she did. "Come on..." She heard his voice somewhere beside her. "Aren't you even gonna talk a little more? I've missed hearing your voice." Skarlia picked up the pace, desperately trying to be free of his voice. She knew if she looked back again... well, she didn't know exactly what she'd do. She saw the Gummi ship ahead of her and she foolishly risked a look behind her... She tripped on some debris and tried to scramble to her feet but Axel stood above her. "Heh heh," he raised a brow as he looked at her. "I didn't just disappear in flames this time. I wanted to see if you've got faster. You have I see." Skarlia tried to back away but Axel walked closer. He was stood between her and the Gummi ship. "Why don't you just do as we used to do?" He asked. "Disappear in flames. You could get away right now. Or don't you want to?" "Of course I'm not staying..." she growled defensively. "I see..." Axel smiled slightly. "So you lost the power to do it?" Skarlia looked at the ground. "Explains it. Skarlia Kara Hart, always controlled by emotions..." Skarlia leapt up and went to strike Axel but he grabbed her by the wrist. "You know you wouldn't..."

A pale arms extended from the wall as the shadows danced about, away from Demyx. A little girl stepped out from the shadow, it shrinking behind her. Her hair was blond and long. Her eyes were blue and large. Her skin was pale and she looked a lot more matre than the girl she was. She lowered hand arm and the shadows faded. She looked over at Kara and Demyx. "How?"Demyx stuttered. "Eve." He whispered. "Hello auntie." She smiled tilting her head, she laughed slightly as her blonde hair blew in the wind. "Do I look like my mother more now?" She looked over at Arxbi. "Please. I'd appretiate it if you didn't hurt Demyx sir." She certainly hadn't lost her manners.
Vexa laughed slightly. "Demyx is in good hands. Bring her back to me when this is over." Vexa told Masina, who nodded. Vexa dissapeared into her black flames. Masina remained, watching Eve. Astonished at the rate the five year old seemed to have matured.
"Would you really put your life on the line just to obey orders, Arxbi?" Eve asked softly. Her voice was like music. Much resembling her mothers usual voice, the one that wasn't lifeless. It was easy to tell who this little girl was, and who her mother was.

Kara smiled at Eve. "Indeed you do, sweetie," she said softly. Arxbi looked at the little girl as the shadows around him dispersed. He nodded. "I would and I have," he replied. His flail vanished. "Though... I-I don't think I can do this anymore. I won't fight you, not anymore." He glanced at the cloak he bore. His eyes were searching for some sort of meaning in it. "Don't think I would've gone on much longer anyway," he said. "The last friends I had died in one of Axel's fires."
Skarlia pulled her arm from Axel's grasp. He watched as she dashed to the side, trying to get around him to get to the ship. He merely moved so quickly to stop her that he just looked like he was zipping in dark shadows, just as Marluxia had done when Axel had fought him. Skarlia finally stopped trying to get past him, exhausted suddenly from all the energy she'd used to get back here. She wobbled on her feet and she saw Axel dart forwards, as though to catch her. She recoiled backwards and he stood up fully. "You don't change your mind easily, do you?" He sighed. Skarlia shook her head, trying to free her mind of his voice. Trying to remove Axel from her mind. "Leave me alone!" She yelled at him and forced herself to keep running to try and get away. This time he dashed in front of her and caught her by the shoulder. "Careful..." his voice was so damn irresistable to Skarlia's ears. "You keep this up and you're going to pass out." Skarlia finally caught Axel's eyes again and the two stared into each other's eyes. Axel's arms were around Skarlia's waist so fast Skarlia couldn't resist, even if she'd wanted to. Her arms were resting on his shoulders for a moment as his lips crashed into her's. He kissed her tenderly and then he pulled her closer; she pulled his head closer and she suppressed a quiet moan. She was kissing him back. Every fibre in Skarlia's body was screaming at her to get away from him. He had killed so many, so many of her friends. Skarlia Kara Eito. Always controlled by emotions.

Eve sighed. Demyx watched her carefully. "I don't think that is necisarilly true, Arxbi." She said kindly. Her saphirre eyes darted to Demyx before going back to Arxbi. "I'm sure not all your friends are dead. Demyx was your friend once. I was asked by some one to make sure you didn't get yourself killed." She explained. "Though, who that is, I can't say." She smiled. "Not all people admit to friendship. It's something like admitting your worst fear. You don't want to because your afraid people might use it against you." Demyx walked closer to Kara. "Not only does she look like her mother, she sounds like Ayla from when I first met her." He whispered to her. "I heard that." Eve called back to him. She turned her head so she could see him. "I'll take that as a compliment." She giggled. "Strangely enough, it was one."
"Considering whats happened now. Texaelle has little to apologise for. The past is in the past. No use crying over something that happened a long time ago." Ayla said absently, staring out of the balcony doors.

"That's actually what I tried to tell her," Rildax grinned. "But she'd started, and she's not cried for... well, I'd never seen her cry before. Except for... well, the past." He dodged that part. "But yeah... she's been a load of help."
Kara grinned. "Yeah, I know..." she said softly. Arxbi looked at Eve with surprise. He looked at Demyx briefly. "I'm not going back..." he said. "Not again. I'll just be made to do something else to keep Axel's loyalties. And that's been a pain for three years." He smiled briefly. "Organisation XIII is down to twelve."
Skarlia finally pulled away from Axel and she walked away a few steps, looking at the ground. "Skarlia..." Axel said softly. "Do you want to keep fighting? I don't want to hurt you anymore. You know I never did." Skarlia wanted to argue back, tell him he was making a bad job of showing that. But she was fighting back more tears and Axel knew. He turned her round by the shoulder and wiped a tear from her cheek with his thumb. "Don't cry..." he sighed soothingly and held her close. She lay her head on his chest and her arms were around him again. Axel suddenly recoiled and clutched his head. Skarlia stared at him helplessly. "What is it?" She asked anxiously. Axel hesitated before letting go of his head. "Headache," he said simply. "I get them a lot. Oh, and it looks like there's a spare space in Organisation XIII." He looked at Skarlia intensely. Skarlia flinched. "I-I can't..." "Please," Axel pleaded and he walked around her slowly. "You have no idea how horrible it's been without you by my side..." Skarlia looked into his eyes. "I've missed you every second," she said. "But I met my mother again, and I know my dad is alive..." she remembered the orders Arxbi had been given. "He's fine," Axel said as though reading her mind. "Arxbi would never kill Demyx. The two were good friends. And that was to get him out of my way. But it turned out even better: a space is available and you're right here." Skarlia dropped her eyes. Was her lonely heart drawing her back to him? Had she really felt that isolated without Axel by her side? Her eyes raised again and she kissed Axel lightly. As she did her face came close to his ear. "The answer's yes."

Eve smiled and Demyx looked at him in pure shock. "They may be down to eleven sooner than you think." He told Arxbi. "Huh?" Eve turned to him. "The person you got the request from is about to officially change sides." He told her. Eve smiled broadly. But sensed some one didn't share the emotion. "Eve, you should go." Eve nodded and dissapeared into black flames.
"Huh?" Ayla's head snapped up as her eyes seemed become alert to something. "Hey." Herutsu walked through the door carrying a cup of water. The intenseness in Ayla's eyes sent the glass flying. "Ayla!" "Sorry." She said quickly. She went to stand but moaned in pain and clutched her chest. She tried again and stood up properly. "Where are you going?" He asked her. "Got a surprise for you." She told him. She looked at Rildax. "You can both follow me if you want. Two surprises, one isn't that good." She sighed. She looked upset. Then flames swallowed her.
She reappeared next to Masina. "You sensed it as well?" Masina asked. "Lose one gain one." She nodded. "Fair traade. Then lose aanother."

Rildax glanced at Herutsu, saluted him with his fingers to his forehead and disappeared in black flames to follow Ayla.
Axel glanced at Skarlia with a broad smile. "Thank you," he said. "You're Number Two now. Sarxial isn't bothered about moving her number about." Skarlia nodded, half enthusiastically, half filled with guilt. Axel waved a hand lazily and a black Organisation XIII cloak appeared in his hand. He handed it to Skarlia. "You don't have to wear it..." he said. "But... you suited mine when you wore it. Remember? You wouldn't stop shivering that night." He smiled and Skarlia smiled back. She slipped into the cloak easily, belting BloodFang over the top of the cloak. That overwhelming feeling of power entered her again as she zipped it up. It was a perfect fit. "I told you it would suit you," he said. Skarlia walked towards the Gummi ship, but this time Axel made no attempt to stop her. She climbed up it to look at herself in the reflection of the front glass. "It does look good," she admitted before leaping down and walking towards Axel again. He grinned and took her hand. "Will you come with me?" He asked her. "I need to see Arxbi. I won't harm him, I give you my word." Skarlia nodded. "Just give me a moment..." she said. Axel nodded. "Do you think you can transport again?" He asked. Skarlia hesitated, feeling the sort of power this cloak gave her. She nodded. "Good," Axel said before disappearing in flames. Skarlia sat down on a rock, her knees tucked in, her head on her knees. There was only one reason she joined and betrayed her family and friends. She loved Axel. She was going with her selfish desires. And she didn't even have her Nobody side to ask for guidance this time.
Axel appeared on a rooftop, looking down at the scene. He grinned, the moonlight directly behind him. "What a wonderful reunion," he said, touching mockery. "How... touching to see." Kara literally recoiled at the sight of Axel stood there, his arms folded, staring down at them. Arxbi span round and glared up at Axel. "Leave us alone," he warned him. "Or what?" Axel said. "Can't you see I'm not here for violence?" He grinned again. "Perhaps not."

"The real shame is that we can still see you." Masina's musical voice ehoed around them. As did her laugh. She wasn't visible to him or anyone else other than Ayla. So the echoing of her melodic voice was slightly creepy. "Don't you have a city to go and burn down? Another person to make change sides?" Ayla smirked. Demyx froze. "What?" He called up to her. "Ask mr boss over there. It's his problem, and hers now, not mine." She shrugged. "By the way Axel. When I asked what would Masina say before. It was an honest question." She told him lifelessly. "Now, now. Why didn't you just ask her?" Masina smirked. She reffered to herself in third person. To see if Axel had known her well enough to merely know her by voice.

Axel's eyes widened briefly and a smile played across his face. A small, almost inaudible laugh echoed in his throat. "So..." Axel said. "You survived, Masina. I expected nothing less. Although I can't say I didn't think you were dead." He glanced at sky and closed his eyes as he thought. His eyes opened again as he glanced about. "Well it's nice to see you slash hear you all again," he said. "Oh, and just so you know, Demyx..." He brushed a few strands of hair from his face as his smile returned. "You and Kara should have kept a better eye on your kid." Kara finally reacted. "What have you done?" Her voice shook as she used all of her energy to force any words out directed at Axel. "Me?" Axel said. "Nothing. I forced her to do nothing." Black flames appeared beside him and Skarlia appeared, her eyes low, her black cloak swaying slightly as the flames disappeared. Axel's hand took Skarlia's gently and she glanced at him. He smiled softly at her. She didn't smile back, looking away quickly. Kara backed away, back into the wall, trying not to believe what was before her. "S-Skarlia..." Kara uttered. She could say no more. Skarlia looked at her mother briefly but looked away again, only staying because Axel was by her side.

Masina's blue eyes penetrated the darkness to look at Skarlia. She glanced at Ayla, who was staring into space. She rolled her eyes and leapt off of the building landing beside Demyx. He glanced at her, though not for more than a second as his gaze was fixed on his daughter. "How could you, join him?" He stuttered. Masina threw something at Ayla, who evidently had actually been paying attention as she leapt down beside Masina. Masina played absently with her long dark hair as Ayla spoke. "Oh for goodness sake Demyx. I would think its pretty obvious." She rolled her eyes. "What is obvious?" He snapped. "Hey, don't bite my head off." She held up her hands in defeat. "Your daughter is still in love with him." She shrugged. "You said that like it's nothing." "It is nothing." Masina answered this time. "Skarlia can choose what she wants. You two don't run her life. You definately haven't for the past three years." "Your one to talk." He mumbled. A huge serge of electricity belted down inbetween the two as the argued. "You two argue like an old married couple. It's pathetic." Vexa smirked coldly. She became visible near the remnants of a street lamp, balancing oddly on a bar of a balcony. She sounded pretty absent. She had just come to watch the show.

Kara glanced between everyone and her daughter. "Why him?" She said. "He's not the Axel you knew..." Skarlia looked sadly at her mother. "He's the closest to the 'old Axel' I've got." Axel glanced at Vexa. "Nice to see you too," he said. His smile faded as he watched the arguements below. He sat down and Skarlia looked at him hesitantly. She didn't sit down. Axel was staring at the people below. "So I just came to visit..." he said. "And see Arxbi. I'm really not in the mood for destroying things right now, so..." Skarlia glanced at him and he looked up at her. "I gave you my word," he said to her with a small smile. Kara glanced at Demyx for a moment before looking back at Axel. "I have one last request," she said, not looking at her daughter. "And what would that be?" Axel asked. "My swords," she said. "I believe you still have them." Axel smiled and pulled the swords out of darkness. He tossed them down and Kara caught them, one in each hand. She placed them in the sheath on her back.

Masina smirked slightly and Ayla backed off. "What do you want Vexa?" Ayla hissed to the nobody, who scowled. ""Believe it or not Ave, this place was quiet before you lot destroyed the silence." Vexa shrugged. "Keep it down would ya?" "If your so bothered leave." Vexa fell silent for a few moments, obviously she was her usual quiet self again now. When she spoke her voice was cold. "I can tell you're bothered by something," her glance flew to Skarlia and Axel. "Why don't you?" "Urgh. Shut it." Ayla growled. "My pleasure. Oh and nice to see you also sir." She bowed her head to Axel and Skarlia. More to Axel. "Should we tell Skarlia that she isn't helping her aunt's steadily growing hate for her?" Demyx said to Kara. Ayla shook her head. Before looking at Masina. "You cannot be serious?" She said it was unclear to what she was refferring. "Why not?" Masina laughed. Ayla froze as the nobody raised her hand so it was beside her own face. Electric sparks shot out and darted around her arms. Her coat sleeve fell down to her elbow. Lightening and thunder clouds began to gather above them. Ayla watched helplessly. She knew that Masina was her own person now. More so than she was back then. "What do you say Axel? Its been boring watching Ave fight form the sidelines for the past three years. I just want to play a little." She laughed. But this was different from her old laugh. This one was dark. It was obvious that Masina had changed, and had no heart, and if Axel accepted her challenge he'd see just how much. "Does she have a deathwish?" Demyx hissed. He took a step forward, but Ayla's eyes shot to himand he couldn't move. "She won't listen. Besides, she can take care of herself." Ayla's eyes flew to Axel. "Three years and she is the only one to have beaten me."

"I really don't think Skarlia cares, Demyx." Kara said quietly. She glanced at Skarlia again and Skarlia had turned away again. Kara glanced at Axel, who sat still, looking at everyone with something close to boredom on his face. He watched Masina with cold eyes. "Whatever," he said absently, standing up. Skarlia looked up and grabbed him arm. "What happened to keeping your word?" Skarlia looked at Axel in the eyes as he turned to look at her. Axel was silent for a moment. "She challenged me," he replied. "Skarlia, I won't back down from any fight." Skarlia let go of Axel's arm in surprise of his reply. "Just don't go getting yourself into trouble," Axel told her with a small smile before leaping to the ground. His eyes seemed bored once again. As he did Kara took the oppotunity to leap up onto the rooftop where Skarlia was. "So... this is you now?" She asked. Skarlia wouldn't look at her. "I guess it's your life," Kara's eyes dropped. "But... I just don't know... how-" Skarlia glanced at her mother. "I don't either."
