Kara smiled. "Sure," she said before following Ayla quietly.
Rildax walked slowly through Texaelle's room, as though trying not to disturb her sleeping soul. He approached the desk which was littered with paper and other assorted note-making equipment. He shifted through them, glancing at different ones briefly. Then one caught his eye. It was definitely her handwriting, it was curly and neat. He picked it up and examined the heading: 'Cobalt Cancer Research'. Rildax raised a brow and continued to read. It was written like a diary, with dates and different sub-headings. But as he read through it, his eyes began to widen until he reached the last entry. Rildax found himself laughing briefly and a grin spreading across his face. He slapped his forehead with the palm of his hand. "Good girl, Texaelle!" He cried aloud. "You genius!" And with that, the paper still in hand, he dashed from the room, just closing the door behind him.

"Vexa." Ayla called over to the girl as she exited the house. Vexa stood up straight quickly. There was red under her eyes. "Vexa? Whats wrong?" Ayla took a step toward her. "I'd stay there if I were you." Vexa said coldly, she was facing away from Ayla, sideways. She held her arm up, her hand stretching out in front of her. "Why did you have to give me that order Ave?" She closed her eyes and four blades appeared around her, floating in the air. Ayla staggered backward. "Vexa." She whispered. "I guess my play times over." Vexa closed her eyes. "Now I know how Axel must have felt." She whispered. Ayla just stood there. She was fast, but she couldn't dodge Vexa's blades, she wasn't healing as fast as she used to. "Sorry." Vexa opened her blue eyes, they flickered to Kara as they changed to the cat-like appearance Ayla's had at first been. She looked at the ground as she clenched her hand that was in the air. The blades dissapeared and five seconds later. "Argh!" Ayla screamed and fell to the floor. She had slashes all over her. She panted heavily as she tried to push her self off of the ground. "I'm sorry." Vexa closed eyes and looked away as she waved her hand. Ayla fell to the floor again, her eyes closing as a slash appeared across her back. Vexa walked over to the unconcious woman. "I must follow orders." She whsipered as she squatted beside Ayla. She placed her hand on Ayla's back as she looked up at Kara, her eyes drifted as a tear fell down her cheek. "I don't know who I'm betraying anymore." She told Kara before she took Ayla with her in the black flames.
She reappeared by the cells in the castle. She tossed Ayla into an empty one, her head smashing against the wall. Vexa cringed and wiped her eyes. They had returned to normal, and there was no sign of tears, as the coldness returned to her expression. She locked the cell and walked away to find Axel. She walked down the corridor and knocked on his door. "Done." She said lifelessly.

Kara ran uselessly towards the black flames, but of course wasn't in time. She dropped to her knees and slammed her fists onto the ground in anger. She closed her eyes for a moment before she slowly got to her feet. Her head turned to the left, towards the house. What was she supposed to do now? Go tell Herutsu? Or... "Kara!" A voice yelled out to her and she span. Ah. Problem. Rildax. "Erm... Rildax-" she tried to say but Rildax was throwing himself into speech. "Look what I just found in Texaelle's notes!" He announced, obviously excited and ready to tell anyone. He brandished the notes at Kara proudly. Kara took a brief glance at them. "Rildax..." "Go on! Read it! Read what your ingenius Nobody figured out!" Kara looked at the title. So she had been researching Cobalt Cancer? "Listen-" "Alright yeah it's long, but just read the last entry. Other side." Kara turned the paper over and read the last paragraph. But didn't take any of it in. She looked back up at Rildax. "First I need to tell you something..." Rildax looked a little confused. Obviously he had expected Kara to be amazed. "What is it?" Rildax asked, lowering the notes and sensing the sadness in Kara's voice. Kara paused for a moment before looking at him again. "It's Ayla."
Axel nodded. "Good," he replied. He glanced at Skarlia, who was asleep again, and closed the door so he was outside. "Perhaps your loyalties still do lie here." The sinister look in his eye rivalled that that appeared in his eyes when he asked Roxas to join the Organisation again. He walked past her before she could reply, if she had intended to.

Vexa scowled as Axel walked past her. Her fists clenched as numberous things in the corridor blinked in and out of reality. "I find it hard to believe I was doubted." She said coldly. Then, when Axel was out of earshot, she whispered soemthing to herself. "I wish I knew where my loyalties lay."
Ayla cringed in pain as her eyes opened. She pushed herself off the floor, and made a failed attempt to stand. She fell back against the wall, her hand landing on her stomach. She had totally forgotten about that. What was she going to do now? But this had been her order. Vexa was a person who would never go against an order, no matter who it was by. Ayla knew that. But why did this order have to be given now? She leant silently against the wall, as she shuffled to the corner, she folded her arms over her stomach, trying to ignore the pain that was banging in her head.

Axel appeared beside the bars, whether he'd just walked there or appeared in black flames was not certain. He was leant against them, looking away from Ayla, hands behind his head, but a very slight smile was upon his face. "Nice to see you again," he said, a hint of mock in his voice.
Rildax paced back and to, trying to think of something to do. "Well, I know running in there will get us killed," Rildax said. It seemed the notes were gone from his mind. They were in his pocket. "As Texaelle has proved." Kara's eyes lowered. "Should we tell the others?" Rildax glanced at Kara. "...yes." He stopped walking. He was calculating something in his mind. "And... well, this could be a chance to... unite two enemies on the same side." Kara's eyes narrowed. "Come again?" He smiled slightly. "Isn't it about time we stop living apart and start fighting back?" Kara suddenly realised what he was talking about. "I think so," she said softly.

Ayla's eyes glowed as she looked up, her arms still across her stomach. She scowled through the darkness, in the direction of Axel's voice. "I guess." She said, slightly cheerfully. It was pretty confusing why she sounded happy, when she was the opposite. "How are you?" She said sarcastically.
"How do you suggest we do that? Half the people here don't like the resistance." Herutsu's voice called down to them as heleapt off the balcony above the door. "Ayla carried this around. Said she needed to give it to Lyrin, but never got the chance." Herutsu pulled a white envelope from his back pocket. "Something to do with medicine. She made it up a couple of years ago. It was one of her assignments when she worked with them. Her and Elle know the medicene's in here off by heart now. So I think you should give this to Lyrin. The stuff is really effective." He looked at Kara. "I was waiting for her to come back, I saw and heard everything that happened with Vexa. I have been waiting on the balcony since she left to find you. What was she in such a rush to talk to you about?" He asked her.

Kara took the medicine. "Well, the truth is I'm not the right person to tell you," she said calmly. "I'm sworn to secrecy." She glanced towards the direction of the desert, then towards the sky. "Rildax, if you try and get together some of your best fighters, I'll go back to the Resistance. They still don't know about Skarlia." She pocketed the medicine. "Herutsu, I'll try and get Lyrin to send back a mutual gift. He has enough stuff." Kara let out a sigh. "But first, Rildax, will you send me over to Hollow Bastion? I have no other way to get to the Resistance." Rildax nodded. "Sure thing." He took Kara's hand, vanished in black flames and reappeared a few seconds later, glancing at Herutsu. "Should we get busy?" He asked.
Axel shrugged. "Yeah I'm good," he replied. "I've got a stronger Organisation flanking my sides, I'm more or less in charge around here, I have my wife with me and everything I have been planning is coming together nicely. I think you could say I'm 'ok'."

Ayla nodded. "Good good." She answered. "Skarlia seeems happier now. Kind of. She's with you again. I guess thats why. You better not hurt her Axel. Im glad she's happy now though." She looked away.
Herutsu nodded. "I should probably have mentioned to Kara that Lyrin shuldn't give us anything. After all, that is an Resistance assignment Ayla and Yuffie were issued two and a half years ago, that Ayla recently completed. It's hard doing two people's worth of research, even if you are as smart as her." Herutsu smirked. "Peter has been waiting for an excuse to go at one of the organisation members." He laughed. "He got his reason. They all care about Ayla. No idea why. She's horrible to most of them." He laughed again. "Huh?" He looked over Rildax's shoulder as black flames appeared. His hand hovered over his gun, but he relaxed when he saw Vexa stood there. "Herutsu." She whispered. She looked up and saw Rildax. She froze and took a step back. "I'm sorry. I was carrying out my orders. From both of them. Ayla said I had to follow orders. Even if it involved killing her or capturing her, and that if the order was to harm one of you, then she'd stop me." "Hold on, what?" Herutsu walked over to her. "You were following Ayla's order?" "Yes." She nodded, tears rolled down her cheeks, she looked more of a child now than ever. She hugged Herutsu quickly. He hugged her back, like a brother would to his little sister. "I don't understand. I'm a nobody, I have no heart. I'm not supposed to feel anything. Why do I feel so horrible?" "I think Rildax, Masina, Demyx, Texaelle, and numberous other nobodies, have proved that nobodies are able to feel Vexa. Looks like you are properly one of us now. Doesn't it kid?" He smiled at her as she let go. "I guess so." She nodded, her redish-brown hair falling in front of her eyes. "Do me a favour." "What?" "Promise that you'll help us get her back." He told her firmly. "Promise." She nodded once, her own voice as firm as it usually was.

Rildax smiled aafter Vexa's explanation. "Good," he said. "Even though most seem to think this may be easy, together as one the Organisation are stupidly tough. Imagine fire manipulated in an illusionary world while all your companions are possessed. Then add a load of other powers and you've got just some of the attacks they can pull off." He pulled his cloak tighter around him. "I best get going then. It won't take much to convince them to come though. They trust me one hundred percent." He sighed. "See you later." He disappeared in black flames.
Kara walked through the group, glancing at the Lieutenant. "Where is Lyrin?" She asked. The Lieutenant pointed towards Lyrin's room. "Tread carefully though, Kara," he advised her. "He isn't in the best of moods." Kara nodded. "Thank you, sir." She said before walking towards Lyrin's room. She knocked on the door and it opened to reveal Lyrin. She noticed a large slash across his face. "Yes?" He asked gruffly. Kara launched into an explanation about everything, from Skarlia joining Axel to the most recent events.
Axel grinned, turning to look through the bars. "Well, I've not had a proper conversation like this with you in some time." He vanished and appeared inside the cell. He smiled slightly as he stood there. "Been having fun running your little group of survivors, have you?"

Ayla backed slightly futher into the corner as Axel appeared inside the cell. Since Axel had got there there had been the bars between them. Ayla felt helpless now. "Not really. Never there. I'm not a people person remember, Axel?" She raised one eyebrow at him; her arms still across her stomach. They became slightly more fixed when he came inside the cell.
"I know all their strengths and weaknesses." Vexa explained. "Whilst, none of them know mine. I'm probably the trickiest of them. No one knows much about me. Only I have a short tember and they don't want to cross me." She closed her eyes and smiled. "You've never seen my power have you? You don't know what it is?" "No." Herutsu shook his head. "Reality." Vexa held up her hand to a tree. The tree seemed to blink in and out of vision before it dissapeared completely. "I can make things go in and out of reality. Including people. I can create my own reailities as well. I can send people there and fight them, giving me an advantage in the fight, oh I can also create a reality portal, it transfers people and anything around it to another dimension." "Whoa." Heurtsu's eyes widened. "You're tiny, and you can do all that?" "And more." She laughed.

Axel grinned again, walking closer to Ayla and prodding her sharply in the stomach with one finger. He laughed quietly. "You've not changed, then." He said, turning his back on her. "By the way, when were you planning on telling Rildax he was going to be a dad? I'm guessing it is him? I can't really think of any other Nobody it could be. Besides Zexion. I doubt it would be Demyx."
Lexu leant against the wall, his eyes closed. He looked remarkably like Axel used to be like when he did this. And unfortunately Skarlia was walking past and noticed that. "Lexu," she said softly and he opened his eyes. He stood up fully and smiled. "Hey there." "Where's Axel?" She asked. Lexu shrugged. Truthfully he knew where he was, but knew Axel didn't want Skarlia to turn up now. And yet he felt like he couldn't lie to Skarlia. "He's around somewhere." Skarlia nodded. "Can I stick around with you for a bit?" Lexu looked a little surprised, but nonetheless nodded. "Sure," he replied.

Vexa looked toward the house. "Hadn't you better tell them then?" She said quietly. "I'll tell them the organisation have Ayla. I won't tell them it was you who captured her. If thats why you suddenly went so quiet." Herutsu promised her. "It is." She nodded once. "Thank you Herutsu." She smiled at him. "What for?" "Everything. Other than Ayla, you're the only one who trusts me. I can tell." She sighed. "I don't think that's true. Elle trusts you." "Great. One more person to add to my epically growing list." She said sarcastically.
Ayla froze. "Uh." She looked up at Axel in shock. "How did you-" She cut off. "I never got chance. I was interupted." She said sarcastically. Refferring to Vexa.

"Hm, I see." Axel span to face Ayla again. "Interesting really. I can even tell what gender your child is." He grinned. "I'll let you have it as a surprise though." He looked through the bars of the cell, drifting away in thought. It was as though he had suddenly found himself, the real him, and he was looking back on his memories. "Well... I myself was..." he seemed unable to say the word and his mouth closed again, silently looking through the bars. Finally he snapped out of it and span around again. "Still, what's gone is gone now." He seemed to lose that air of who he once was again. "And now, what to do with you. I'm sure I can't bring you close to breaking point in the same way I did with Cloud."

Ayla scowled at the mention of her brothers name. A harsh growl escaped her mouth. Her cat-like eyes glowed in the darkness as her anger rose. "Don't you dare talk about him Axel." She hissed. Her normal voice from a moment ago had vanished. This voice now was one she had become so acustomed to using when she was in the old organisation XIII. Kara, please. You have to tell Rildax. Axel has found out. Please you have to tell him. She told her sister in her mind. I don't know why I'm here. But I don't know how long I'll be here.
"I should go." Vexa told him. "Should I stay with them for now?" "Yes." Herutsu nodded. "We'll need you there. To keep an eye on Ayla, and anything else." "Of course sir." Vexa nodded, that was the same respect she had shown Ayla. He had never been treated like that by her before. There was no sarcasm in her voice either. "I'll see you later." She smiled at him and dissapeared. "Right. My turn." Herutsu turned around to look back at the house.

Axel just watched Ayla as she got angry at the mention of her brother. "What's up, did I say something wrong?" He laughed quietly. "Did I find a weak spot?" He disappeared and reappeared behind her, his fingers touching the tattoo on the back of her neck. "And I think I just found another one here."
Kara had just handed over the medicine after her explanation to Lyrin when she heard Ayla. They were in Lyrin's room now. Alright. I'll be as fast as I can. Lyrin examined the medicine before placing it on his table. "I suppose I'll have to send something equally useful back," he said. He took a small stone from his desk and tossed it to Kara, who caught it. "That thing heats up when there's a Nobody close by. If they need more they just need to chip a little off that one and touch another stone with it." Kara nodded and placed the stone in her pocket. "Thank you, sir. Do I have your permission to return to Ayla and Herutsu's group?" Lyrin shrugged. "You don't need my permission," he replied. "I think you should be a little more free, all of you. You all seem to rely on my orders." He laughed slightly before his face straightened again. "Oh, and my regards go to your daughter. I hope she'll be ok." Kara nodded. "That means a lot, Lyrin. Thank you." Lyrin glanced at Kara. "Go on, get this show on the road." Kara left, looking for the corridor of darkness Rildax had left her.
