"Sorry, I guess I just want to see Skarlia again, she was my best friend, and I hardly spoke to her." Masina seemed unfazed by Axel's anger. Unfazed by the use of his old phrase. As long as he didn't called her Ina, she'd be okay, she wouldn't break. "I can feel the pain in your head." She said as a single tear rolled down her cheek. She walked toward him slowly. She stopped right in front of him. My intentions are good with this Skarlia, I swear. She thought. I just need to see if he's definately still there. Masina put one hand on Axel's cheek and suddenly her lips pressed against his. She kissed him softly. Trying to make him wake up. She'd kissed him once before, just before je'd sacrificed himself to help Sora.

Axel didn't react much as Masina approached, though he made a small movement as though to step away. But he remained and when she kissed him he made another movement to back away, but he was frozen to the spot, completely tensed up. He wasn't kissing back, and yet he wasn't rejecting her. Finally he pulled back away from her, backing away from her. "No..." he said, his eyes shining with pain. "No, you shouldn't have come here. You... you need to go. You need to get as far away from here as possible." He hesitated, finally stopping backing away. "You need to get as far away as you can from me."

"Why?" Masina smirked slightly, she had meant nothing romantic wise by kissing him, it was just to wake him up. "You said yourself you can't kill me Axel." She pulled the dagger from her legstrap and walked away from him. "It took a while for my hair to get this long." She said absently, spinning the dagger in her hand. She stopped quite far away from Axel. "I don't like it that much, it's annoying." She lifted her dagger and sliced it across her long black hair, so it was now shoulder-length. "Better. One last thing." She raised one hand to her head and sent an electric pulse into her hair. "That hurt. It probably hurt you as well." Her voice was still hollow. Her hair, it was how it used to be, hort and pixie-like. She genuinly looked like the old Masina. But, the old Masina was gone, she'd been replaced by a Masina who had lost her sanity. Masina lay on the ground, tossing the dagger down, she didn't have her staff with her. She stared at the sky for a moment before speaking. "Since you won't kill me, do you think that creature will for me?"

Axel had backed up to a small fence that surrounded the edge of the roof of the castle. His eyes were wide with panic and now Masina was how she used to be his head was being torn apart. But he tried his best not to react. Even though he clutched it for a few moments as Masina asked him about the creature. "It... It won't take you as a first target..." He breathed deeper to try and clear his head. "It will... will go for humans first. Go for the hearts." He let out a shuddering breath. "Then it may kill whoever is left." He kept his eyes fixed on Masina. "Why do you have to keep this up? It's over. I'm not the Axel you used to know. It's all over. Once that thing gets loose..." He stopped. His eyes fell for a few seconds before they rose again. "There aren't many left, are there?" He looked away again. "I killed them. I killed the ones who trusted me..." He closed his eyes as though tears were building up. "I thought losing you, Roxas and Xion was the worst it could get..." The castle shuddered as the creature above roared and beat its wings heavily. "Then I had to go and make more friends..." he seemed lost now, as though it was not only Masina he was talking to. "I had to go and fall in love..." He glanced up at Masina, his eyes shining with tears that wouldn't fall. "We've been through this, Masina. No more will die at my hands. Leave now, Ina."

Suddenly Masina got to her feet and approached Axel swiftly. A loud clap rang out as she slapped him. "If you're not Axel, if he's not coming back, coming home. Then you can't call me that, no one cals me that anymore. If, if you're not him, then.." she paused and looked away. "You're no expection." Masina looked back at him. "You say no more will die at your hand. Letting that thing lose, that is dying at your hand. Letting Kesus just wander about, that's killing Ayla yourself." She seemed more form now, but Masina was being ripped apart. Torn between believing and not believing. But the pain that ran through ehr that she had been fighting for three years was hurting so badly now. "They are dying at your hands Axel. Just as Skarlia did." Masina said coldly, her eyes on the floor. "If I stop fighting, stop this pain, then I'll end up like you." Masina suddenly dropped to her knees, tears rolling down her face. "I don't care how much it takes! Please! Axel! Either stop this or kill me! It hurts! I can't fight it anymore! I don't want to end up like you! So please! Either come home, or kill me! I don't care if you find it hard to! But Vexa and Roxas aren't here to stop you now! So please! Do it already!" And as she screamed the tears were still streaming down her face.

Axel flinched as Masina slapped him and he held his cheek for a few moments. He froze, watching Masina until his eyes were lifeless and they fell, looking anywhere but at her. "You may be connected to me," Axel growled. "But you don't understand. When I go to sleep at night, when I try to remember... all I can hear is that thing in my head. It tells me to do things and if I refuse... it takes over..." He glanced up at the Heartless above. "I can't do it," he said. "Soon I'll be out of control again and you know it. I can't stop it now it's begun. I can't stop Kesus... kill him if you must, but..." He held a hand to his head and clenched his teeth, his eyes screwing up in pain. "There's only one thing I can do..." he seemed to relax a little and his eyes remained closed as he thought carefully. Then he looked at Masina, crouching beside her. "Thank you for waking me up. Now I can do what I should have done in the first place." A smile flickered across his face. "Close the vent. The Heartless' power may deterierate and it'll give you a fighting chance against it. I can't do it... he'll never met me near it now it's started." He touched the top of Masina's arm with a soft smile. "Good bye." He stood up and walked past Masina, straight towards the edge of the castle roof. He didn't even look down. With his death, everything would end. Axel's head fell into chaos but Axel used what little strength he had to fight back. We're going down together... He thought before he fell into step...

Masina wiped her eyes and leapt to her feet. "You're an idiot." She said coldly. She suddenly appeared in front of him, showing just how much Ayla had trained her, Masina could use her speed well now. She looked at him harshly. "You think that if you die this will all end? It won't Axel." She snapped. "What about in my head? If you de, I won't stop hearing it, I've lost my mind already. But, hey, the least it could do is kill me, or take over me. I've been subject to darkness before, more so than you." Her eyes fell, but when they rose again they were soft. "You can't Axel." She grabbed his arms firmly, sending slight sparks flaring up his arms. "I've lost so many people, I don't want to lose you. Not again. If I have if I have to be here to stop, you, all the time, then I will......"* She sighed. "You're my best friend! I'm not letting you die!"
Vexa appeared with Elu back at Evalaine's house. She'd dropped Roxas off elsewhere. "Where's Masina?" Herutsu asked quickly. "With Axel." Vexa looked at him, her eyes emotionless, her mind impossible to read. Except for one person obviously. "What?! You left her there? With him?! What is he kills her?!" He shouted. "He won't...." She trailed off. "What makes you so sure?!" He was losing it. "Because he can't. Not directly." It wasn't Vexa who answered him, it was Ayla, she was staring out the window from the doorway. She could just about make out the castle. "Meaning?" Herutsu asked. "He can attack her. But he can't 'shoot to kill' as the saying goes. He can't kill her." Vexa explained. "Masina told him to kill her, offered him her life. He went to slit her neck. But, he couldn't do it." "Skarlia was the final straw." Ayla whispered under her breath, looking at her feet. *Hehe XD

Elu stumbled back and fell into a chair, clenching his teeth as he tried to place his leg more comfortably. "Thanks Vexa," he looked up at her and nodded. Kara was staring ahead of her into nothingness. "He..." she paused and swallowed as the shocks of pain hit her every so often as the vision appeared before her. "He just tried... tried to kill himself." She closed her eyes tight before opening them again. "But Masina stopped him." Reno's eyes fell. "Sometimes I feel him..." he said slowly. "As though he's trying to take my heart as his own..." Kara glanced up. "But Masina... she's ok, right?"
Axel didn't look directly at Masina, but just kept looking somewhere to his side. "I thought you agreed with me..." he said quietly and lifelessly. "That I'm not the old Axel anymore." Suddenly his eyes darted upwards as he spotted movement above. The colossal Heartless above tilted its head towards them and blasted a ball of shadow energy at them. "Stay back!" Axel pushed Masina lightly back, away from the path of the ball. He leapt up high to meet the energy ball and produced his chakrams. But these weren't the ones he had produced before. These were the ones he had always had, the ones that had been untouched for three years. These chakrams were red and silver. At the very last moment he thrust up his chakrams and took the impact of the ball and was thrown into the castle, but although he was on his back now he held up his chakrams, using every ounce of his power to hold back the ball from reaching Masina. He struggled, but shakily stood, inching upwards until he was stood fully. He was sliding back slowly, but turned his left foot sideways and held it back a little as a brake. Finally, using the last bit of energy he had he thrust forwards, letting out a roar of determination, fire leaping up to help push the ball. It flew back through the air and hit the Heartless. Although the attack wasn't so big compared to the Heartless, the fire added onto it caused greater damage to the creature. However, it was breaking free. The last of the hearts were inside it and the shackles that were holding it tied to its world were breaking. Axel's chakrams vanished and he panted heavily, doubling over to catch his breath. He turned his head and against everything, against the years of fighting, against the blood showers and plague of death, against the creature that roared inside his mind, Axel smiled happily at Masina. "How did I do?" He asked cheerfully.

"You still could be.." Masina sighed, her eyes paniked as Axel took the force of the creatures attack. She ran to his side. "Great." She returned his smile, that was the first time, the first time in three years, Masina had actually smiled and meant it. "Are you okay?" Worry creapt into her voice. They may not be who they used to be, but regardless, to Masina Axel was still her best friend. She closed her eyes and looked in thought for a moment, when she opened them she was looking away. "I'm staying Axel." She said bluntly.
Ayla closed her eyes for a moment, when she re-opened them she sighed. "She's fine." She couldn't help but smile slightly. "Not only did he not kill her, he actually saved her." She looked at Herutsu. "Told ya!" She stuck her tounge out at him. "Why are you in such a good mood?" Herutsu laughed. "Not a clue." Ayla shrugged, her gaze returning absently to the window. She didn't mention the last thing she'd heard.

Axel smiled reassuringly. "I'm fine," he told her as he straightened himself up. Only to receive a shock through his head. "No," he said firmly. "Listen to me. I'm awake now. I won't stay like this for much longer. I don't know what I'm capable of anymore. I may have refused to kill you before... but..." A blood-curdling scream ripped through the air as the pain in Axel's head increased tenfold, more than that... it was like he was being torn apart continously... His legs buckled beneath him until he was on his knees, still trying to hold back the screams, but they kept coming. He'd never felt it so bad, never had it occurred to him it could get this excruciating... He was on his side, arms over his face so his hands were gripping the back of his head. "Make it stop!" He screamed. He sounded like a terrified child, one that was being beaten senseless, one that had been lost on a path that was not known to them. This was not Axel. This was not the cool and calm Axel that had originally been in the same body. This was someone who was being driven insane by the beast that whispered to him in the night until he was retreating further and further inside his mind, the bloodtide too horrific to accept... In only three years, Axel had turned from the predator to the prey.

Masina was immediatly beside him. "Axel!" She cried out, her own voice scared. Her head was killing her, but she was used to it, the pain in her head was not Axel's, not just his, but she had her own problems as well. "You're obviously not okay." Masina said somewhat firmly. "I'm staying. You're not changin my mind. You should know that's impossible." She paused. "And as for the killing me thing," another pause, longer this time. "For all I care I can die right now. As long as you don't." Skarlia....Why did you have to go? She thought to herself. She placed a hand on Axel's shoulder. She whispered to him. "Axel, I'm here always. No matter how bad it gets. You've always got me. I'm always going to be your best friend." She paused. "I wish I could make it stop. I wished that for three years." She spoke a little louder. "But I can't. I wish, I wish it was like it used to be." "Axel." She said firmly. "You sound like a child." The authority that three years ago was once held in her voice flowed through now. As she said the thing she said to Axel constantly. "Grow up Axe, you're a big boy now."
Ayla moved her gaze from the window to Herutsu. "Herutsu." "Huh?" He looked at her cautiously. "I lost the game." She said bluntly, continuing to stare out the window. "Damn it!" He cringed. Ayla couldn't help but smile a little.

Axel's body had been shuddering in pain. It began to cease slowly, his breathing beginning to even out. However, he had not fought off the darkness deceinding on him and now he was lost again, passed out in agony somewhere in his mind. Slowly he pushed himself up and then to his feet, his eyes cold and dead again as he glanced up at the Heartless above. His sight then switched to Masina. "Fine, whatever," he said bluntly. His eyes lay on her for a few more seconds as thoughts raged in his mind, none of which were the real Axel's. Axel's eyes left her and he walked past her, slowly and then stopped. "Make yourself at home," he told her. "Just be on your guard for intruders." He vanished in black flames.
Arxbi had been beaten and the Resistance advanced as three of the group stayed to try and separate Arxbi from Sarxial. She would end up with death if they could deliver it to her, no matter how much Quinn told them not to kill her. The Dusk Nobodies were still following, but now the defenders were at the back of the group and anyone who could plow quickly through the Dusks were at the front. "Don't slow down!" Lyrin sliced his way through more Dusks. "We're approaching the main floor!"

Masina watched Axel go. Something clicked in her mind and she cringed in pain. She knew why. Axel was gone again, so it was hurting her as well. She was getting fed up with fighting. She had never tried to stop. She was used to fighting off things like this. She had been doing this nearly since she was created. She didn't know what it was like to just let go. She didn't know whether to or not. She dissapeared and reappeared in one of the corridors in the castle. She leant against the wall and stared at what once was the room she had met everyone in, from the old organisation.
