Rildax nodded. "Indeed it has, Herutsu," Rildax said, a slight smile playing across his face. "Can't say I haven't missed you, though." He looked at Ayla briefly. Wow, I can't believe I just admitted that, he thought. I'll be shocked if he says anything like that. Kara paced the cell tirelessly, her mind casting out to the future. Enzeru's body had disappeared into black smoke. Cloud was safe, she hoped. And now she had to figure a way out of here. The same way probably wouldn't work twice, but who knew. Even if she did try, she'd probably end up in those shackles that Cloud had been in. Then she had no chance. Kara? A voice broke into her head. Texaelle, Kara responded. Where are you? How is Cloud? That's the thing... Texaelle hesitated. As we disappeared in flames, midway we were intercepted. Cloud dropped out of the teleport and I... just lost your brother. Kara breathed out softly. Find him for me, Texaelle, Kara asked her desperately. He's a survivor, but I don't know if he can survive much longer alone with those wounds. You have my word, Kara, Texaelle's voice echoed as she disappeared from Kara's mind. The Nobodies had been beaten. Skarlia turned to look at the huge beast of Lyrin. "You have some control, I see," Skarlia said, sheathing BloodFang. "I thought I was dog meat when I dropped down." Lyrin growled softly and dropped onto all-fours, walking in a circle around Skarlia, snuffling the air. It seemed Lyrin was more of a beast as a human than wolf. "So, does this last all night?" Skarlia asked. Lyrin's ears raised, but he didn't seem to understand. "Never mind. Just stay close." She began to walk and Lyrin stood there, his ears raised expectantly. Skarlia patted her upper leg and Lyrin followed obediently. This was possibly the only time Skarlia was giving the orders, not Lyrin. Cloud stumbled through the sand, finally landing on his back. To the west a sandstorm was approaching. He couldn't go on. There was no sign of civilisation. At all. He had given up, his wounds opening again as fresh blood poured onto the sand. He was nothing more than vulture bait. His eyes began to close...

Ayla's eyes darted beween the two men. Her eyes shifted to Rildax and a sght smirk decided against appearing on her emotionless face. Then her eyes locked onto Herutsu as he spoke. "Dare I say it but likewise. Ever since she thought you died, Ayla has never been here. She's nt the best company when she is, she never speaks." Ayla scowled at him and he held his hand up in surrender. "It's true, sorry. Hey, Ayla can I talk to Rildax a minute?" "Sure." That was the first time she had spoken since Elle had departed in the first room they had entered. There had been a long corridor and this was the second. It was a weapons room by the looks of it. Weapons were hung all around the room. Swords and guns, daggers and shurikens. You name it, it was there. On a wall seperate from all the other weapons were two glass cabnets, display cabinets. They housed two separate weapons of their own. One housed a large shuriken, a tag labelled "Yuffie" was at the bottom. In the case beside it, was a metal rod. It seemd to have some kind of electric pulse coming from it. The label below that read "Reno". Finally above both the cases, were two swords. If you had known the owner three years ago, it was impossible not to recognise them. A tribal pattern ran down both blades, winding around the silver and handles. They were a bit longer and slightly wider than the ones the owner had now. The swords had blood on them, dry blood. It was blood that belong to the owner of the two swords. It was impossible to mistake these swords to belong to anyone else. Three years agp, these swords had belong to Ayla. One last thing was on the wall, underneath the swords. Between the glass cases, was a photograph. It was one taken three years ago. Everyone was on there. Herutsu, Rildax, Ayla, Yuffie, Masina. One person was unexpexted to be on there. No one had made any effort t remove them. Axel. "Thanks." Herutsu nodded as a type of forcefield melted around Ayla's body. Her eyes closed. "She can't hear us now." Herutsu turned to Rildax. "She still loves you. She hasn't actually said it because she is worried your opinion of her might have changed. She not exactly the old Ayla anymore. Because," he paused, looking away, "because she lost you." A small woman stood in an alley awaiting some one. All of her up to her nose was in light, anything above that was still in darkness. Her long black hair drifted down her small shoulders as the wind gently blew through it. The sides of her mouth curved up in a slight smirk rather than a smile. "You had better help Kara, Demyx." The musical voice could not be mistaken. Masina was alive and well. This was Masina.

Rildax did not make eye contact with Herutsu much, but when he did it was only brief. He glanced at Ayla before his eyes skimmed the walls. "I still love her," he finally said. "I thought she knew that. I never stopped thinking about her. She was the reason I kept going." He finally flashed his glance to Herutsu. "I wish we hadn't all been split up. Too much time has been lost." His glance fell back to Ayla's sword, then the picture of everyone. If only time had stood still like it did it the picture, a piece of the past snatched from time. Kara slumped back in her cell. Her neck was sore and bruised, she had a few bruises here and there but other than that she was fine. She was just exhausted after the ideas that had revolved in her mind; these had tired her out more than the actual fight. Hang in there, Kara, Texaelle said. I can't get in, but you'll get out. I did, you can. Kara knew that Texaelle did not have the power to appear in flames near the Castle of the Sky, as she had been thrown out of Organisation XIII. Don't worry about me, Kara told her. Just concentrate on the others. Texaelle disappeared from Kara's mind as her eyes began to close slowly. Cloud's eyes opened briefly and he saw a shadow looming over him. It was a large lioness, though he couldn't make it out fully under the merciless glare of the sun. His eyes closed again as the lioness growled to itself, examining the injuries with care. Khali pushed her nose underneath Cloud and slowly moved him onto her back. He lay on his stomach and Khali looked about for a way out of the sandstorm that had suddenly dived upon them. Khali sprinted through it, her head down to stop sand attacking her eyes. There was no way she could make it through this without one of them getting injured. So she went for the next possible choice. She dashed the other way, hoping to end up at the city she had heard in tales, the Oasis City. Whether it existed or not, Khali was unsure. She begged it did though. Demyx's eyes glanced upwards towards the sky before they fell upon Masina again. She had survived, it was true, but Demyx felt like he shouldn't leave. Not after a once so huge group was split up and killed off so quickly. "You sure we should be splitting up?" He asked. Even if he knew Kara needed his help more than Masina did right now.

"She definately still loves you." Herutsu nodded. "She never actually told me that. But I see it. Her eyes weren't like Sephiroth's when I justaw her. They are only like that when she is happy." He listened carefully as Rildax spoke. "I think it's the same for her. I know you never left her head. I never see her now. Whenever I'd mention your name she'd look away. She still cares about you more than anything, I know that. It's also a small part of the reason she changed her name." He explained. He noticed Rildax look at Ayla's swords, then at the photograph beneath them. "Heh," he smirked slightly, "Ayla hasn't used those swords since she thought you died. Then there's the picture. You wouldn't believe how many people protested at Axel still being in it. But Ayla won't have it any other way. She told me that once upon a time, we were all in this together. She thinks that the Axel we knew is still there. She doesn't hate him." He sighed. "She's changed a lot. I miss her. I wish we hadn't all been separated as well, all in different ways. But Ayla wants nothing to do with Skarlia, or anyone that has joined the resistance. She hates them. I don't completely understand. She won't tell me. Maybe you can get her to say something about it." "I wouldn't worry about me." Masina nodded to him. "You need to get to Kara, now. We don't need anyone else to die." She said bitterly. "I can look after myself, and if I can't I'll just call Ayla." She walked toward him. She put her hand on his cheek and smiled, something she hadn't done in a while. "Our friends need us now. Kara can't tell anyone that we are alive, not yet. But you have to help her. And whatever you do, don't mention me." She stepped backward and her face turned stern. She was giving Demyx orders now. "Go. Before I push you into the corridors of darkness myself."

Rildax nodded. "Perhaps I will try," he said. "But not yet. I won't launch it upon her." He closed his eyes for a moment as he thought. "Perhaps..." he muttered almost silently. Khali was thrown about in the endless flurry of sand and dirt, thrown up in a chaos of disturbed earth. Cloud was nodding in and out of conciousness. He had to get out of this quickly, otherwise his survival looked grim. Khali saw sunlight streaming weakly through the sand and she picked up her pace slightly. The sunlight came in larger beams and soon the depths of the sandstorm was fading away behind her. But her body was beginning to overheat in the sun and her muscles wouldn't keep working. If she didn't keep going, she could lose Cloud. She forced herself to bare the pain and pounded on, her paws sinking in the loose sand. her tail flashed up and down in waves of rolling baige and her legs were rounding into circular motions to up her acceleration. There was a glimmer from a glimpse of the distance. Water. The oasis existed. Khali found herself letting out a feline laugh before she found a new hope rekindled in her soul. Demyx sighed, nodding. He disappeared into flames. When he emerged from them he was greeted to a dark and tiny cell, once home to two but now the only occupant was sleeping peacefully against the wall. Demyx found a smile play across his face. And a hand reaching up to adjust how his mullet lay. He crouched beside Kara, his ocean eyes flashing slightly as a stream of moonlight reflected off their surface. "Kara," his almost child-like voice whispered softly, like the currents of a peaceful tide. "Wakey wakey." Kara's eyes fluttered open sleepily and adjusted to the moonlight that stroked her face. She had to blink a few times though when her optics landed on the man crouched beside her. "...you're dead," she finally said. "You... cheated death again?" A broad smile broke across her face. "I guess you could say that," he replied with another slight smile. "Come on. We're getting out of here." Kara didn't hesitate to stand with Demyx and hugged him. All these years had felt awkward, like they weren't supposed to be together anymore. That's how Demyx felt. Kara seemed to believe it was timeless. Demyx wrapped his arms around Kara protectively for a few moments before he let go. He held her hand and the two were engulfed by black flames.

"Right." Herutsu nodded. He walked to Ayla, who all this time had been leant against the wall silently. Her eyes closed and the side of her bare stomach leant against the freezing wall. Herutsu placed a hand on her shoulder and the blue light that surrounded her faded. Her eyes slowly opened and she looked at Herutsu. He nodded to her. "I should get going. It's late, I should get Lilly to sleep. Later." He nodded to Rildax before leaving the room. "Come on then." Ayla said quickly, her blue eyes seemed to have faded. The sparkle that was there when she first saw Rildax was gone now. She brushed her long dark hair back over her shoulder and soun on her heel to face the door. She reluctantly reached for Rildax's hand. She paused just before she touched him, but then she took his hand and lead him into a type of enterance hall. Or it looked like it. It was white, like castle oblivion, and there was a large staircase in the centre. Ayla lead Rildax up the stairs before stopping in front of two large doors. "My room. Though I'm never here, I got outvoted that I sould have the largest room. No one is in Evalaine's old room. It's directly opposite mine, straight ahead down the corridor." She explained. "Lilly's room is next to mine, Herutsu's on the other side of that. Then it just has the rest of the people here sharing rooms really." She looked at her feet and let go of Rildax's hand. "Lilly and Herutsu are permanantly here, us three were here before everyone else, that's why we have our own rooms. Even if some of us aren't here that often." She shrugged. She looked up at him and smiled slightly.

Rildax's eyes took in the details almost lazily, trained to do so for so long they did it automatically. He listened to Ayla and smiled at her. "Very nice," he said. "But you understand that I will have to visit the Oasis City soon. They don't know I'm here and I have to sort out who will be in charge for the time being." He let his thoughts drift to all those young children who had wanted to swordfight like Rildax, and even some of the elderly people who even felt suspicious of Rildax. No matter how little they trusted him though, they had to stay under his command for now. There was nowhere else they could go. There were too many. Khali skidded to a halt outside the gates of the Oasis City. This place was once a ruined, ancient civilisation world, full of crumbled houses and so on. But whoever the Desert Mirage was, it seemed he'd rebuilt the place. Khali spotted the turret guards and growled softly. The men saw the man upon the lion's back and hesitantly opened the gates. Khali stepped in and they closed behind her, large and old though they were. The large cirque wall that protected the houses inside the city was home to good few people, bustling about. Khali noticed the wary glances she received as a few guards examined the man. They supported Cloud and took him towards a medical centre, leaving a few guards to try and figure out what to do with this unusual lioness. Demyx and Kara reappeared in an alley some way away from Masina. Demyx let go of Kara's hand and his glance switched to the floor. "What's wrong?" Kara asked as she was about to thank him. "Oh, nothing," Demyx said quickly, his gaze not shifting. Kara remained silent, as though trying to penetrate Demyx's mind. "What is it?" "It's nothing important," Demyx glanced at Kara but didn't make eye contact. Kara nodded, but sighed quietly and didn't reach instinctively for Demyx's hand again. "Thank you for getting me out of there," she said finally. "Don't mention it," Demyx replied smoothly, although he himself looked anything other than smooth.

Ayla spun on her heel, a slight smirk on her face, though that was false. Her eyes were slowly changing back to their cat-like appearance as they had been when she saw Rildax. As she spoke her voice was kind of shaky, though her tone meant she knew something. "You should go." She said, gazing aimlessly out of the window. "I'm sure I could survive without you a little longer, I have for three years. And you without me." She said sarcastically, that part sounded slightly sad. "You have your responsibility now, I have mine." She said coldly. She began to cough repeatedly, her hand clutching her chest in pain. "Though you are not well enough to hold the responsibilty." Herutsu's voice came into her line of hearing as he came into the corridor through Lilly's door. "Even if you claim you are." "I am Herutsu." Ayla scowled at him, her voice harsher and less shaky. "What could be wrong with me? You know as well as I do that neither of us can get the cancer." She scolded him. "Whatever, I still think your ill." He shrugged as he walked down the stairs. "He needs to stop thinking." She said coldly. Her voice suddenly turned shaky again, she was still facing the window. "Go. They need you a lot more than anyone here does." She shrugged. She hoped that he didn't misinterperate that. She was rarely here, so she didn't class herself to be 'anyone here'. Because sadly she did need him. Masina closed her eyes. She held her face up and let her long black hair wave gently in the wind. It was different to the old way she'd had it. It used to be short and pikie-like. Now it was long and nearly straight. Her eyes were blue and her lips and skin were in perfect sinc. Her skin was very nearly white, her lips were pink. She looked different now. But she liked the way she looked.

Rildax watched Ayla silently. He didn't speak. "Barely," he sighed. "I barely survived. Without you. As well as wandering through areas with the most contaminated air, containing the Cobalt Cancer. I haven't got a clue how I'm alive. I took in at least five people who had it. And no one else go infected. Weird..." He touched Ayla's face gently, smiling. "I'll be back soon," he said. He walked past Herutsu, whispering as he did without pausing. "Take care of her." With that he disappeared into flames. Axel turned to see the cell that had held Kara empty. An expecting smile flickered across his face. He knew it would happen, but he had expected it sooner. So Demyx was alive. He guessed so anyway. He was perhaps the only Nobody close to Kara who he hadn't blocked from teleporting inside the Castle in the Sky. His hand passed over the bars absently as his mind drifted. He could see through the shadows in his mind the old times, in which they were all so close. But then the shadows struck down again like a veil and a sharp pain sliced through Axel's mind. He clutched his hand and groaned quietly. The pain dispursed as the shadows settled and he let go of his head. "Arxbi," Axel said without turning as the obedient Nobody walked up behind him. "You didn't kill her. Why?" Arxbi swallowed. "If you remember," he began, "Demyx, Karxitarr and I were all close friends some time ago. Years ago. Even if we were separated in more ways than one, I still feel I owe him something. I believe Demyx was close to Kara." "And so he has proved that," Axel spun on his heel, his cloak twirling in an elegant black spiral. "Now go. If you really want to prove yourself, tail them. It doesn't matter if they see you. Just report back later." "Understood." Arxbi bowed his head and disappeared in flames. Axel leant against the cell, his eyes misted with confusion. Lyrin's tongue lolled from his mouth, his golden eyes searching. Skarlia was running beside him, her sword clinking against its sheath. She was leading him towards a backalley where no one went. After the run he would lose some of his feral energy and perhaps calm down. Then Skarlia could decide what to do next. Demyx walked through the alley, emerging into the moonlight. His ocean eyes flicked to the moon before he span round to face Kara, her emerged slower from the darkness. "So what have you been doing with yourself?" Demyx asked half-absently. "Oh, nothing," Kara sighed, knowing that Demyx was refusing to meet her glance. "I recently found Skarlia in the Resistance..." "You did?" Demyx said, sounding quite surprised, but still didn't look at her. "Didn't think Skarlia would join that. Too independent." "Guess so..." Kara said quietly. "And you? Where have you been?" Demyx hesitated. "Elsewhere," he said. Kara wanted to grab him by the collar and force him to tell her what was wrong. But she fell into a deafening silence as thoughts passed between them both.

Herutsu smirked and stopped walking. "If she sticks around long enough for me to." He glanced over his hsoulder to see Ayla, her hand where Rildax had touched her, as she faded into black flames. "Didn't think so." He laughed once before caarying on walking. Shortly after he dissapeared, heading for Cid's house. Ayla closed her eyes as she appeared in front of Masina. "What did you want?" She said coldly. Masina tilted her head and smirked as her black hair fell in front of her face. "That wasn't very nice." She laughed. She tucked her hair behind her ear as she held her head normally. "I wanted you to check Demyx is okay." She sighed as Ayla coughed. "And take care of yourself while your at it." "I'm fine." "No, your not. Have you figured out whats going on with you yet?" Masina asked her. Ayla shrugged. She coughed again. "Not a clue. Herutsu won't stop trying to find out. But now some one else is back in the picture." She looked away. Masina smirked. "Who?" "Rildax." Ayla said simply. Masina smiled, Ayla noticed, even if it was dark. "You knew he was alive didn't you?" "No. I didn't. I get most of my information from you. And neither myself or Demyx venture out to the desert." She nodded to Ayla as she narrowed her eyes and the black flames engulfed her. Ayla appeared on a rooftop near Demyx. She saw him below her a flipped down off the roof. She spun in the air just as she landed in front of him. "I got sent to check on you." She folded her arms. Her eyes flickered to her sister at his side. "Kara." She whispred, taking a step back. I'm gonna murder you. I know. "Great. Just bloody perfect." She mumbled. She hadn't seen any of her family in years. She hadn't intended to for a much longer time. But she knew that if she left Masina would send her right back again.

Kara grinned broadly. As well as the fact her sister was alive, it gave her a reason to break the silence. "Ayla," she smiled. "So you're alive. I always suspected you would survive all this." She glanced at Ayla's expression thoughtfully. "Sorry." She said simply. Demyx smiled at Ayla as his line of sight tore away from the moon. "Hey," he said. "So what kind of thing are you checking on? My sanity?" Kara rubbed the back of her neck slowly. The smile had faded from her expression. Arxbi appeared on a rooftop, sitting down and glancing at the moon. He switched his gaze to Demyx, Kara and Ayla. He did nothing else. Cloud lay silently on the bed, his eyes fixed on the ceiling. He noticed a girl walk in and sit on a chair beside him. His deep wounds on his ankles and wrists were bandaged up well. He had a large bandage around his stomach and chest. The girl smiled warmly. "You're awake," Khali said. "It was you, wasn't it?" He said, his eyes meeting Khali. "You carried me here, right?" "I sort of sensed you there," she said. "So I was in the area and found you." "Thank you," Cloud smiled. "It's fine..." Khali changed subject as she felt a little embarrassed. "Well, they bandaged you up well, didn't they?" "Yeah..." Cloud managed to sit up and examine the bandages. Rildax reappeared in the city, in the large temple that was used as a city hall. It was an ancient temple, a Roman design, with large stone pillars holding it up and a large circular table with high chairs inside. The high-backed one was where Rildax always sat. Rildax approached the council table to see a few people already there, including Texaelle. "Rildax," an older man said as Rildax sat down. "A man and a lioness girl appeared today. The man was injured badly but he is awake now." Rildax nodded. "Lioness girl?" He asked. "A lioness came carrying the man," the older man explained. "Then we tried to figure out what to do with her, but she became a human, much to our surprise." Khali. Rildax thought. "Alright." He said simply.

Ayla closed her eyes and, as she had left her swords at the house, he hand flew to her dagger. She did not take it from the sheath beneath her skirt, but her hand wavered over it. As though she was wondering whether to draw it or not. Then her hand dropped to her side as her eyes reopened, she knew Arxbi was there but chose not to tell the other two. She frowned at Demyx's question, she shrugged. "Not a clue. Wasn't exactly given the details. I'm just doing a fovour, I'm not an assassin anymore remember." She smirked. "Well, not officially." She looked at her sister. "Hi. Hows your daughter?" She said sarcastically. It was a well known fact to everyone in the Resistance that Ayla was not a fan of them, in fact she couldn't stand them. She was stronger and faster than ever. But she did not want to help out the people merely trying to bring the organisation down. She thought that they ignored the people who could not fight, who were young or old. She saw no point in that. Thinking of this reminded her that she had promised a bunch of kids her and Herutsu would teach them how to fight. She smirked again. "She's still in the resistance I assume? Not dead yet?" "Ave." Demyx said in warning. Ayla just smirked, her eyes were like Sephiroth's again. They glowed slightly in the moonlight.

Kara wasn't expecting Ayla's comment. "Leave my daughter alone," she growled. "What the heck is wrong with you? Feeling angst in you for the millionth time?" Kara was always protective of her daughter. She'd never stopped being. Never would stop being. Arxbi rolled his eyes at Ayla's comment. His glance flashed to Demyx. His thoughts flashed to the past for a moment before he resumed his role in the present. Skarlia watched the sun rise as she led Lyrin back to the Resistance. As the sun hit his back he howled in pain, ripping his skin off once again to reveal a human, wearing only his ripped and torn jeans. He collapsed and Skarlia crouched to catch him before his head hit the floor. She looked at the somewhat handsome man, always barking orders now lying dependently on the ground. Skarlia smiled at the vunerability of her so-called leader. She helped him up, his arm around her neck and vice versa. Skarlia one-handedly made it into the Resistance Base and a few of the Resistance looked up, surprised, and two men took Lyrin towards the hospital wing. Skarlia at down on a chair and explained to one of the assistant leaders what happened. After a while Skarlia got up and walked into the most unknown part of the base. She tapped in a seven-digit code and the door slid open. Within rows and rows of beds were lined, all containing sick patients. All had Cobalt Cancer. Skarlia leant against the back wall. The air was sterile, as the patients had masks on to help breathing and stop the cancer being carried in the air. Skarlia noticed a man on one bed being rushed out quickly as he stopped breathing and his heart gave out. He had seconds before the climax of the cancer took hold and the cancer exploded into the air. Skarlia rubbed her eye, no tears there but almost wishing there was, before walking out of the huge room and locking the sliding door again.

Ayla smirked slightly, Demyx took a step toward her as she coughed. She held her hand up at him, and he stopped. "You know, all of your family is still alive, in the end, you even made friends with Texaelle." "All of your family is still alive. By the look on your face, in your eyes, I'm guessing after three years you learnt your boyfriend is still alive?" Demyx said quickly. "Not all my family. And yes I am aware Rildax is alive. No thanks to you two." It would have been odd to anyone there other than Demyx. Ayla was obviously not reffering to Kara. "We couldn't tell you, Ayla." "Don't call me that. And I don't care." She shrugged. Demyx's mind cast back to what she had said. "Not all my family" she had said. Demyx knew immedatly who she meant. Eve. He watched as Ayla's gaze turned to Kara. "My apologies, sis. I am not-" Ayla began to cough excessively, this time Demyx did go over, Ayla was clutching her stomach and dashes of blood came from her mouth every so often. "Ayla." "I said don't call me that!" She choked, shebit back another cough and swallowed hard. She cringed, she had probably swallowed a load of blood. He lept his hand firm on her shoulder. "Herutsu still hasn't figured it out?" "No." "You can't get the cancer, why is this happening?" He said puzzled. Ayla shrugged. "Not a clue, now get off of me, I'm fine." She coughed once as she stood up straight. Demyx walked back to Kara's side. "The reason she said that about Skarlia is because Ayl- Ave," he corrected himself, "hates the resistance, and anything or anyone to do with it. But she doesn't hate Axel. Or you. I don't think she hates Skarlia, just what she is doing." He whispered quickly to her.

Kara looked on, knowing there was nothing she could do. If Ayla did have the cancer, then there was currently no cure. She just begged that it wasn't that. She thought it was odd that Ayla referred to her family and Kara's family. They were one family, they were sisters. "Learn more about the Resistance, Ave," she said softly. "I'm glad you have Rildax back. You two were always good together." She looked sideways at Demyx before her gaze drifted a little. Arxbi watched intently, his eyes not blinking or moving. After some time he grew bored of sitting there, merely observing. The Superior's plans seemed to be twisted. Axel had said that it didn't matter whether Arxbi was seen or not. Why that was, he was unsure. He leapt from the rooftop and landed on his feet easily. His piercing electric-blue eyes glanced at each person in turn, before walking from the shadows. "Nice to see you all again," he said. As his eyes passed to Kara she felt memories of earlier on repeating. She became aware of the throbbing in her neck. Skarlia, wondering where her mother hd got to, had returned to her room, lay back on her bed and had resumed her stare at the ceiling. There was a light tap at the door and Lyrin appeared. Odd. He never came for anyone. He always sent for them. "Hello," Lyrin said, the usual gruffness in his voice faded slightly. "Erm... thanks for earlier." Lyrin came in fully and closed the door. He was wearing jeans with a t-shirt, a black leather jaket over it, unzipped and his usual red neckerchief. "Don't mention it," Skarlia replied, sitting up. "I should explain, I suppose," he said. It was obvious he was feeling awkward. "Well, I was an experiment, I suppose you would say. For Organisation XIII. It was to see if they could successfully transfer DNA into another being and make an entirely knew creation that thought and acted how they wanted it to act." He gazed about the room, looking for a distraction. "During the experiment, I awoke from the heavy dosage of anasthetic and managed to escape. That left me with another's DNA in me." His eyes grew sad and almost guilty as he looked at Skarlia. "It was Enzeru's DNA. They used a feather from him and after I escaped they went looking for me again. And found Enzeru." Skarlia was silent, but nodded. "I just thought you should know," he said before leaving.
